WFP seeks $5M for Sahrawi refugees

The World Food Program is appealing for $5 million to help Sahrawi refugees in southwest Algeria. The agency’s operation is benefiting 90,000 people who fled the conflict in the Moroccan-controlled Western Sahara and a further 5,000 families affected by floods in February. The WFP said it needs “considerable contributions” to continue providing food aid in 2007. (Source: UN food agency appeals for aid for Sahrawi refugees/Reuters)
