The International Monetary Fund has appointed Christine Lagarde for a second term as managing director. Lagarde, who was the only candidate, was backed by the United Kingdom, Germany, China, and her home country, France, to stay on for another five years.

AfDB has announced the appointments of Kevin Chika Urama and Maria Mulindi as advisers to President Akinwumi Adesina. Urama has been appointed senior policy adviser on inclusive and green growth, while Mulindi will serve as senior adviser on civil society and community-based organizations.
