The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative has announced the individual who will head its efforts in the field of science: Cori Bargmann, a renowned neuroscientist currently teaching as a Torsten N. Wiesel Professor at The Rockefeller University. She starts Oct. 1.
In her upcoming role, Bargmann will be leading and overseeing the initiative’s work in advancing research aimed at finding a “cure, prevent, or manage all diseases by the end of the century.” Despite the humongous task, Bargmann will continue as a professor at Rockefeller.
Global Partnership for Education
Award-winning singer-songwriter and philanthropist Rihanna has taken another step in advancing children’s access to education globally. Last week, she accepted the role of becoming the global ambassador for the Global Partnership for Education, a multistakeholder platform that advocates for children’s access to education around the world.
