World Bank Backs Infrastructure Schemes in Indian State

India's Orissa state may access some USD444 million in World Bank financing to back its infrastructure projects,

reported. Of the sum, USD250 million will be used to rehabilitate the state's road networks while USD112 million will be allocated to the repair of agricultural tank systems. The remainder of the funding will help boost livelihood opportunities for the rural poor.
