World Bank Finances Indian Highway Agency’s Institutional Development

The World Bank has committed USD45 million in a technical assistance loan to improve the institutional capacity of the agency overseeing India’s national highway network. The funding will particularly support training that aims to help the National Highways Authority of India better manage its projects and assets. This effort is geared toward implementing the recommendations of an interministerial panel created in 2008 to explore NHAI’s restructuring.
