World Bank Helps Boost Investments in West Bank and Gaza

The World Bank unveiled a new trust fund to raise investments in West Bank and Gaza. The fund, to be managed by the bank’s Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency, is co-sponsored by the European Investment Bank, the Japanese government, and the Palestinian Authority. “Encouraging greater integration of Arab countries with the global economy – critical for creating jobs and opportunities for the people of the region – is an important initiative of the World Bank Group,” Merza Hasan, the global lender’s executive director for the Middle East, said.
