World Bank, India Sign Loan Deal for Coal Project

The World Bank and India inked a USD180 million loan agreement for a project to upgrade coal-fired generating units in the states of Haryana, Maharashtra and West Bengal,

 reports. The initiative aims to reduce carbon emissions as well as improve water treatment and ash disposal at the plants.
