World Bank Loan to Benefit Poor Nicaraguan Families

The World Bank will back Nicaragua’s new social initiative with a USD19.5 million loan.

Some 20,000 Nicaraguan families living in extreme poverty will benefit from the initiative that seeks to provide ongoing support, family counseling and two-year family scholarships. The project will also support community educational workshops.

The project will be implemented by the Ministry of Families, Adolescence and Childhood.
