World Bank Official Praises Chinese Railway System

East African countries can use the “Chinese model” in developing their own regional railway system, World Bank Country Director for Tanzania, Uganda, and Burundi John Murray McIntire said.

“China has very good experience in developing high-speed railway, which can be learned by the East African countries,” McIntire told Xinhua at the sidelines of a regional conference on the East African railways system.

He added that the project will require a big capital, which cannot be shouldered by one donor alone.
