World Bank OKs funding for Cape Verde social sectors

The World Bank is providing USD10 million in credit to help the government of Cape Verde implement its poverty reduction program. World Bank Economist Manuela Francisco said the funding “will support the improvement of quality and efficiency of basic health, modernization and rationalization of the social protection services, with a focus on improving the normative and operational framework for social protection services at the municipal level.” (USD10 Million to Support Social Sectors in Cape-Verde - World Bank, Jul. 8, 2008)
