World Bank pleased with Pakistani reconstruction

World Bank officials applauded Pakistan’s impressive reconstruction efforts, two years after a crippling earthquake struck the country’s northern area. “The progress has been really remarkable,” said Shabnaz Arshad, who leads the agency’s rural housing reconstruction program. “It has been a very challenging task,” he added. The official remarked that Pakistan’s efforts were better than expected, as similar plans in Sri Lanka, Turkey, and India have not achieved the same success.
