World Bank Pledges Continued Assistance to Boost Employment in Tunisia

The World Bank is keen on supporting Tunisia to improve employment, particularly among youth in the African nation.

During a two-day visit to the African nation, Shamshad Akhtar, World Bank vice president for the Middle East and North Africa region, discussed with Tunisian government officials the bank’s 2010-2013 country partnership strategy for Tunisia, as well as the development of the private sector to boost employment.

The strategy aims to provide Tunisia with financial aid, technical assistance and support for analytical studies in the areas of economic growth and employment, sustainable development and climate change, and delivery of services.
