World Bank Prepares USD510 Million Loan for China's Quake-Hit Region

The World Bank plans to disburse USD510 million in January 2009 to rebuild China’s earthquake zone, Sichuan. The announcement came from World Bank President Robert B. Zoellick, who is visiting the country. The loan will be used to rehabilitate urban infrastructure as well as health and education facilities in the area, where 69,000 lost their lives in the wake of an earthquake in May.
