World Bank Promotes Wastewater Management Efficiency in Uzbek Cities


committed $55 million in credit to a $66.16 million project to rehabilitate sections of the sewerage system in the cities of Bukhara and Samarkand in Uzbekistan. The project will install wastewater pumps and aeration systems at the cities' wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations. It also aims to strengthen management, communications and public outreach capacity of water utilities called vodokanals.
