World Bank Provides Post-Cyclone Aid to Bangladesh

A USD109 million World Bank credit will be made available to the Bangladeshi government to help rehabilitate infrastructure and livelihoods in communities affected by last year’s Cyclone Sidr. The funding will be used to restore around 300 multi-purpose shelters and some 100-kilometer coastal embankments. The program will improve the disaster preparedness of farmers in the Asian country.
