World Bank Resumes Aid to Niger

The World Bank has lifted the suspension of its aid to Niger. The Washington-based lender will provide USD40 million worth of budget support to help the country address severe food shortages, among other emergencies, it is facing, Reuters reports.

The World Bank suspended its engagement in the African country after a military coup toppled the government in February.
