World Bank to Upgrade Croatian Port

The World Bank will lend EUR84 million (USD122.5 million) to boost the competitiveness of Croatia’s Rijeka port. The program will upgrade strategic port facilities, bolster private sector investments in the port and enhance the Port of Rijeka Authority’s financial performance, among others. “Rijeka is strategically located as the gateway for one of the more important European transport corridors, corridor Vb, both as a port and as a destination for tourism and business,” World Bank Country Director for Croatia Orsalia Kalantzopoulos said.
