A Zambian court has found the former head of the country's air force guilty of stealing government property, and has sentenced him to six years in prison. Christopher Singogo, who served as air force commander under former president Frederik Chiluba, is the latest high-profile figure to be jailed for corruption in the mineral-rich country. Western donors and international agencies have praised President Levy Mwanawasa's government for its tough measures in tackling corruption. Former president Chiluba himself faces charges of stealing public funds. He has denied any wrongdoing. (Radio Netherlands)
