Zimbabwe Needs Donor Funding to Tackle Cholera

Zimbabwe requested USD3.89 million from donors to stem the spread of cholera. “The emergency appeal will help us reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with the current socio-economic environment by December 2009,” according to Zimbabwean Health Minister David Parirenyatwa, who also said that local hospitals are “literally not functioning” and lack medicines as well as equipment to deal with the disease.
