Action Child Aid since 1965 helped several million poor children in the urban slums and rural areas of India. Historically, Action Child Aid originates from the Abbé Pierre inspired grassroots movement, who supported Mother Teresa’s work in Kolkata. Today, the organization is a non-profit development organization, independent of political and religious interests. Action Child Aid values are based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The organization work for a world where all children can experience a healthy and safe childhood and have equal access to learning through education in order to create their own future.
Action Child Aid have many volunteers, and the organization's dedicated employees, which are all part time, also volunteer apart from their contractual work.
