Arab Organization of Disabled People

The Arab Organization for Persons with Disabilities was established on November 3, 1998, following the conclusion of the founding conference of the Association of Arab Disabled Persons under the theme "Towards an Arab Decade for the Disabled", which was held in the Great Hall of the League of Arab States in Cairo from 1 to 3 November The Conference was launched on 1 November 1998 under the patronage of His Excellency the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Dr. Esmat Abdel Meguid, represented by the Assistant Secretary-General for Social Affairs, Mr. Daou Ali Souaidan, and in the presence of the Ministers of Arab Affairs of Egypt Palestine and Lebanon, and a number of Arab ambassadors, With the participation of associations representing disabled people from Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Bahrain, Jordan, Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco, Oman, Yemen and the United Arab Emirates, as well as prominent disabled people from Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
