For 2010-2020, ACB will have a focused direction of providing full service to the needs of AMS in support of meeting their commitment to the global development agreements as embodied in the MDG and the various multilateral environment agreements. The Centre will be driven by a straightforward vision and mission goals, and will set realistic and achievable strategic objectives guided at all times by a set of clear values and principles responding to the mandates derived from the Centre’s Governing Board.
Vision – Biodiversity is protected, conserved, managed and sustainably used, and its benefits are fairly and equitably shared for the social, economic and environmental well-being of ASEAN Member States.
Mission – ACB champions biodiversity conservation in the region and enhances its global standing as a center of excellence for biodiversity conservation.
In pursuance to Article II of the Establishment Agreement the Centre shall facilitate cooperation and coordination among the ASEAN Member States and with relevant national government, regional and international organizations, on the conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from the use of such biodiversity in the ASEAN region.
ACB performs its mandate through five components:

Public and leadership awareness of biodiversity values
