ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF)

In 1989, ASEAN and the Republic of Korea (ROK) established their sectoral dialogue partnership, which was followed by the launch of ASEAN-ROK Cooperation Fund (AKCF) in 1990 to further strengthen the ASEAN-ROK relations. AKCF has supported more than 400 projects agreed by both parties, including technology transfer, economic development, human resource development, and people-to-people exchanges. ASEAN-ROK Programme Management Team (AKPMT) The AKPMT was established in 2016 to manage activities under the AKCF. The mandate of the AKPMT includes: Consultation with potential partners for the formulation of quality proposals in line with the demand and priority of ASEAN and also the capacity and interests of ROK; Coordination with the ASEAN Secretariat, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of ROK, and partners from ASEAN and ROK for the formulation, implementation, and reporting of programmes/projects; Monitoring and evaluation of approved programmes/projects; Promotion of the AKCF to relevant stakeholders and the public.
