Asian Social Enterprise Incubator is the first incubator in the Philippines for social enterprises and organizations engaged at the base of the pyramid. It was incorporated in August 2009 in Quezon City. The vision of ASEI is a thriving ecosystem of sustainable social enterprises and organizations at the base of the pyramid.
ASEI’s mission is to be the leading incubator in the Philippines providing comprehensive services and state of the art technology for social enterprises and organizations engaged at the base of the pyramid enabling them to achieve scale, sustainability, and impact.
ASEI provides consulting in two distinct areas: Inclusive Business/Base of Pyramid and Renewable Energy.
Inclusive Business/Base of Pyramid - ASEI has built up unique expertise in market-based solutions for the base of the pyramid in the Philippines. This area can best be described as a “space” (link to tag cloud), as generations of academics have failed to come up with an encompassing definition. The underlying premise for us is the creation of shared value with the involvement of the low income population, i.e. the social impact and the participation of the private sector in a core business activity, i.e. the financial return.
iBoP Asia - ASEI provided consulting services to the Ateneo School of Government (link) in developing the iBoP Asia Programme: Innovations for the Base of the Pyramid (link). This programme aims for inclusive growth and poverty alleviation through community involvement and co-creation.
Renewable Energy - Renewable energy, namely solar, wind, run-of-the river hydro and biomass technology, presents an emerging market opportunity in the Philippines. ASEI provides consulting to foster information exchange, business partnerships and the development of framework conditions.
