The Asociación Los Andes de Cajamarca (ALAC) is committed to contributing to sustainable development of Cajamarca, driving business generation and institutional capacities to improve the welfare of the people of Cajamarca.
Founded in March 2004, ALAC is sponsored by Minera Yanacocha and is dedicated to promoting integrated development programs. In order to promote sustainable development of Cajamarca, Yanacocha decided to create "The Association of Andres de Cajamarca" (ALAC), as its corporate organization that promotes sustainable human development in the region in line with the principles of social responsibility Yanacocha.
ALAC’s activities are organized into strategic objectives aimed at three key areas as:
institutional capacity building
human capital development
To be an organization recognized and legitimized by the Cajamarca community for their contribution to business competitiveness, institutional strengthening and improving the quality of life for inclusive and sustainable development of the region
We are a development organization that strengthens capacity, creates opportunities and mobilizes resources to contribute to sustainable development of Cajamarca, with the participation of the community, the government and the private sector and in accordance with our respective approach to Social Responsibility.
In recent years, ALAC has placed great emphasis on promoting participatory processes to develop the human and social capital in the Cajamarca region. ALAC helps to generate knowledge, skills and attitudes to promote entrepreneurship and business creation and sustainable development in potentially competitive sectors and markets (tourism, agribusiness, handicrafts and forest conversion), both in rural and urban Cajamarca.
