Association of Women with Disabilities (ENGKAD)
The Disabled Women Association (ENG-KAD) was established in September 2011 in Ankara, when a group of women aiming to tackle these problems came together to meet on the common denominator of feminism and individuals with disabilities.
Aims of the Disabled Women Association:
By examining the current situation and problems of women with disabilities; to produce theoretical and practical solutions to develop political, legal, social and economic assets within the framework of universal human rights, justice and the rule of law.
Working to ensure that women with disabilities have access to rights-seeking mechanisms and to combat all forms of discrimination.
To establish dialogue, communication, solidarity among women, to come together with disabled and unimpeded women from all walks of life in the common denominator of 'honorable life' and to carry out various activities.
To work to increase the participation of women with disabilities in the field of social and economic development by taking into consideration the principle of equal opportunity.
To contribute to the creation of problem determinations and solution suggestions for women with disabilities, in order to lead their lives in line with basic human rights such as education, employment and health.
Raising public awareness about the strengths and problems of women with disabilities and organizing activities for this purpose.See more
