Collaborating with the CSI means relying on an experienced and dynamic team to carry out projects related to international solidarity. Indispensable regional organization in the field of international cooperation, the CSI has developed innovative partnerships with a large number of organizations from here and elsewhere. Active in the Quebec Association of International Cooperation Organizations (AQOCI), the CSI has a wealth of expertise that it has deployed for over 35 years.
The CSI was established in 1979. Originally, it was primarily dedicated to public education and awareness. It was in 1996 that it became a veritable international cooperation agency. Since then, he has supported around thirty projects in Burkina Faso, Mali, Ecuador and Nicaragua. From 2003, the organization concentrated its activities in Burkina Faso and Ecuador. Since 2015, Senegal has also been one of its countries of intervention.
The CSI is distinguished by the integrated approach of its different action streams. Indeed, both internships, development projects and education activities for global citizenship are implemented in synergy in order to increase their reach. The CSI is also strong in its regional character, which allows it to mobilize regional actors in its education projects, but also in its international development projects.
At the CSI, international solidarity is ...
International solidarity is an approach which aims to collectively build social change of the solidarity type. More specifically, one of the main tasks of the CSI is to support the initiatives of civil society organizations in the South while promoting their work among populations and organizations in the North. Bringing together the architects of change in both the North and the South is one of the priorities in the CSI's action.
If the results are important for the CSI, the process is just as important. In fact, the CSI constantly maintains and creates equal partnerships with its partners in the South. Its overseas projects are always carried out in support of organizational projects from the South and are thus anchored in the reality of local populations.See more
