Chance to Shine is an independent, registered charity (number 1123385) on a mission to spread the power of cricket throughout schools and communities.
Since 2005 their Chance to Shine Schools programme has helped reverse the decline in cricket in state schools. Working in close partnership with all 39 County Cricket Boards and hundreds of local cricket clubs, they’ve got over two million boys and girls in over 10,000 schools playing and learning through cricket.
Chance to Shine Street takes the game and its educational benefits to inner-city areas affected by youth crime and anti-social behaviour. They’re using the power of cricket to engage young people from a range of backgrounds, increase aspiration and promote respect.
Chance to Shine's Second Innings appeal needs to raise £25million by 2020, to enable us to keep reaching more children in more schools and communities.
Chance to Shine Street is bringing cricket to thousands more young people in inner- city areas. It uses the game to increase aspiration, promote social cohesion and create opportunities in diverse communities affected by youth crime and anti-social behaviour.
In the past 11 years they’ve proved that cricket has the power to bring young people from all walks of life together and teach life skills that will stay with them forever. They’re committed to giving all young people the chance to play it, learn from it and enjoy it.
Your gifts help them every year to give literally hundreds of thousands of young people the chance to play cricket, the chance to learn teamwork, discipline and respect from playing cricket; and the chance to shine!
