Cives Mundi’s objective consists in promoting and implementing actions, programmes and projects for cooperation and support assistance in developing areas and countries. It also aims at carrying out raising awareness and education actions about development among Spanish society. Its main fields of action are environmental issues, rural facilities, education, AIDS prevention and the promotion of equal opportunities between men and women.
Founded in 1987 in Soria (Spain), the non governmental development organization Cives Mundi has managed to become a recognized player in the field of cooperation over the last years. The NGDO is currently working in 16 countries distributed between Africa, Asia and Latin America. In 2008, 41 cooperation actions were set up in those countries.
According to Cives Mundi's principles, professionalization and specialization are essential to work efficiently in the field of development aid. More than 150 people are currently working for Cives Mundi all over the world to carry out actions with the support of more than 1000 volunteers.
The NGDO has its head office in Soria and permanent delegations in Barcelona, Dominican Republic, Peru, Chile, Tunisia, Tanzania and Cambodia
