About

KontraS was established in 1998 with the purpose to establish Indonesia as a just and democratic country where people are free from fear, repression and discrimination. The organization works in the areas of Advocacy, promotion of human rights issues and civil society’s rights. KontraS works nationally, regionally and also internationally, addressing international issues through the international coalition.

Vision

The realization of democracy based on the integrity of the people's sovereignty through the foundations and principles of the people that are free from fear, oppression, violence and various forms of human rights violations for any reason, including those based on gender.

Mission

- Promote people's awareness of the importance of respecting human rights, especially sensitivity to various forms of violence and gross violations of human rights as a result of the abuse of state power.

- Fighting for justice and state accountability for various forms of violence and gross violations of human rights through various advocacy efforts to demand state accountability.

- To consistently encourage changes in the legal and political system, which have dimensions of strengthening and protecting the people from forms of violence and human rights violations.
