Consorcio de Investigación sobre VIH SIDA TB CISIDAT, A.C
CISIDAT is a multidisciplinary and inter-institutional initiative, formed by an experienced group of researchers and experts in clinical care, basic, social and behavioral sciences, with extensive experience in high-level care and research. The activities of CISIDAT are aimed at supporting the research of these institutions in the field of HIV / AIDS / TB and related topics.
Mission and Vision
Their Mission is to contribute to improve the quality of life and the survival of people living with HIV / AIDS / Tuberculosis; Through the generation of scientific evidence on care, treatment and prevention, which influences public policies and improves the response to the epidemic in Mexico.
Their Vision is to be a leading group in the generation of scientific evidence on HIV / AIDS / TB in Mexico through inter-institutional and multidisciplinary collaboration that promotes scientific excellence and the optimization of resources with transparency and ethics, respecting institutional autonomy.
In 2006, the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) authorized financial support for the project that was then called "CISIDA", and was composed of 5 sub-projects of national impact from the Sectoral Fund for Health and Safety Research for an amount of $ 35,505,000 pesos. The general objective of this proposal was to generate scientific evidence to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of treatment, care and prevention of secondary cases of HIV / AIDS and Tuberculosis in Mexico. To achieve this objective, the integration of a Multidisciplinary Research Consortium with a strategic approach was proposed, which would be integrated by an experienced group of clinicians, epidemiologists, behavioral science experts, and economists.
As a result of the commitments made with CONACYT, the projection identified at the international level and the need to grant legal security and certainty to the interdisciplinary and inter-institutional group of experts; On July 20, 2007, the "HIV CISIDAT, AC HIV AIDS Research Consortium" was created under the Civil Association regime and whose corporate purpose is to integrate an inter-institutional and multidisciplinary academic group that encourages and facilitates the generation and exchange of knowledge through collaboration, in order to have useful and timely information to improve the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of treatment, care and prevention of HIV, AIDS and tuberculosis in Mexico.See more
