Economic Transformations Group (ETG) is a networked consultancy, which means that they hire the most qualified experts according to the needs of the project. They also work in partnership with other development organizations and consultancies. The core team consists of the partner members of ETG who provide the overall framework and philosophy behind all of the projects. Through the combined network of professional contacts built up through years of experience, they have the ability to build a dream team for activating sustainable economies in a variety of contexts.
With over 20 years of hands-on experience around the globe, Economic Transformations Group brings together leaders from business, government, education, and community to define effective strategies and to take specific actions to achieve sustainability and real prosperity.
Dr. Eric Hansen
, President of ETG, initially studied and developed the economics of clustering while at MIT and the World Bank during the late 1970s. He further developed and applied clustering approaches while at the Stanford Research Institute (SRI International) during the 1980s and 1990s. “Cluster-based Economic Development” is now recognized internationally as the most effective way to grow new economies and to revitalize existing economies.
ETG has led the field with hands on experience in regional economic development, urban planning, innovation, and sustainable business practices. From Silicon Valley to Slovenia and from Morocco to Mexico, ETG has succeeded in inspiring, forming, and supporting action teams of business, government and community leaders to develop and implement strategies for sustainable and competitive economic growth. ETG's networked team
of consultants includes experienced economists, management consultants, implementation specialists, and systems and institutions designers. All of ETG's affiliates are committed to the principles of sustainability.
