Education Development Trust

Education Development Trust (previously CfBT Education Trust) is a leading international education services not-for-profit organisation. Established in 1968, they have worked in 80 countries to fulfil their mission – to transform lives by improving education around the world. They help to shape education systems and design education solutions to give young people everywhere a brighter future. They work with governments and directly with schools to make sure that teachers and school leaders are the best they can be, and to make sure that children everywhere receive a great education. Their work is evidence- informed and they invest annually in their program of educational research. At Education Development Trust they are all deeply committed to delivering lasting change for the better for children and young people, and those making choices about learning, skills and working life. On 1 January 2016 they changed their name to Education Development Trust to better reflect what they do. What hasn’t changed is their ethos, their heritage, their expertise and their experience. All their staff embody their values of integrity, excellence, collaboration and accountability. Education Development Trust now has an annual turnover in excess of £80 million and employs around 1200 staff worldwide. Areas of Work School System Reform From direct-to-school school improvement initiatives to the shaping of government educational policy on a national scale, they know how to effect change within school systems. Their global expertise has been proven over the last 50 years as they deliver transformational programs that leave a lasting legacy of positive change. School Inspection and Evaluation Education Development Trust is a world authority on school inspection and evaluation having inspected schools around the world for more than 20 years. Working with governments to raise standards in schools is something that they are passionate about: a transparent framework means better education for all. English Language Teaching Governments rely on their expertise to deliver far-reaching English language teaching programmes. They recruit, develop and support qualified English-speaking teachers to transform the life chances of future generations – in particular in Brunei, the Middle East and India. Careers Advice and Guidance Education Development Trust has first-rate credentials in providing services that bridge the gap between education, training and employment. They have been a leading careers service provider in the UK for over 20 years and have a successful track record of managing programmes delivering careers, employment and skills support. Their Research They invest annually in their program of educational research that is free to download from their website. Why? Because it matters to them that policy makers make informed decisions and that teachers benefit from the latest best practice. Their research underpins their work and they are the evidence-informed, education improvement charity.
