How women's empowerment became their main mission:
A group of friends (Audrey, Caroline, Fanny, Jean, Julie, Nicolas, Pauline, Sarah and Soazig) began a six month journey around the world to meet female entrepreneurs. Their aim was to better understand the issues that mattered to women entrepreneurs and the challenges the women encountered. From these meetings, the group of friends came to a double conclusion: that female entrepreneurship undoubtedly had incredible and often untapped potential; but this potential was held back by the substantial, ongoing challenges common to all of the women they met.
The birth of Empow'Her! Struck by the lack of support structures for women who want to start their own economic activity, the team gets to work around a common goal and vision: to provide women with accessible training and coaching to help them become female entrepreneurs, and ultimately, decide on their own futures.
The first Empow'Her training and support projects for women entrepreneurs are launched with local partners in Peru, Thailand, Burkina Faso and Morocco.
A turning point for Empow'Her. After initiating the pilot project in 2012, Soazig decides to devote herself 100% to the development of the organization. The first members of the operational team are recruited, and a new chapter opens for the organization.
According to a World Economic Forum study, it will take more than 200 years before achieving gender equality... We need to do better and more!
Since women's entrepreneurship matters everywhere, Empow'Her makes the decision to launch a support program closer to home, with a focus on women entrepreneurs in France. Different country, but always the same goal: supporting female entrepreneurship, for a better world.
After more than a year of research and evidence-gathering, the first "Hub" Empow'Her is launched in Ivory Coast... In their Hubs, they carry their training programs and offer women entrepreneurs a place to meet and share.
A new Hub is launched in Niger, the result of a close cooperation with their partner Veolia.See more
