EKHN is a membership-based democratic network. EKHN board is the main desicion-making body consist by 5 members elected for 2 years term and has the following authorities:
Including new members and suspending memberships
Electing EKHN Board, Supervisory Committee and Lead Organization
Defining EKHN’s strategic priorities
Approving annual reports etc.
What they are doing
PUBLIC HEALTH: EKHN is developing its interventions and programs in response to the pressing need to address the persistent gender inequalities and human rights violations that put WG/TG at a greater risk of, and more vulnerable to HIV
GENDER AND GENDER EQUALITY: EKHN is referring to the UNAIDS Agenda for Accelerated Action for Gender Equality and HIV commits to “address HIV needs of women and girls and stop violence against women”, recommending 26 strategic actions that countries can take to achieve this goal.
KEY POPULATION: In 2012 – 2015 EKHN has successfully implemented EU funded project focused on the assessment, development and promotion of country level comprehensive approaches of services for PUD, SWs and MSM. Advocacy plans for these services development and promotion in national strategies are developed.

HIV: Eastern Europe is the only region in the world where AIDS-related deaths continue to grow, there was a 21 percent increase in AIDS-related deaths between 2005 and 2012 (Aidsmap, 2013).
