FOCUS - Forum for Women and Development - works to strengthen women's rights and opportunities through program work in seven countries in Africa and Latin America, as well as through political drive. FOCUS is the only organization in Norway that works exclusively with women's rights and gender equality internationally.

FOKUS is a center of excellence and resources that, through development cooperation and political drive, seeks to strengthen international commitment and efforts for women's human rights and social participation.

The umbrella organization was founded in 1995 and today consists of over 50 different women's organizations in Norway. 

They receive financial support from Norad, the Ministry of Children and Equality, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Grieg Foundation, the Norwegian Bar Association and private monthly donors. We are also a member of the Collection Control.

FOCUS has a board and a secretariat in Norway and a country office in Colombia.

Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mette-Marit is the protector of FOCUS.
