Footwork: The International Podoconiosis Initiative (www.podo.org) envisions a world free from podoconiosis. Podo is a non-infectious form of elephantiasis that affects over 4 million people across the highland areas of Africa, Asia and South America. It is highly preventable by avoiding prolonged barefoot contact with irritant soil and treatable through a regimen of good foot hygiene – AKA washing – and wearing shoes. Footwork brings together private and public partners to advance advocacy, prevention and treatment.
