Fundación Hondurena de Ambiente y Desarrollo Vida (Fundacion Vida)

Fundación Vida was formed in 1992 as an effort by a group of Hondurans and Hondurans concerned about the environmental situation of the country. At that moment, they aspire to create an organization capable of promoting, through its actions, an agenda aimed at the protection of the important natural resources. In this sense, the Fundación Vida and thanks to the Honduran Fund for the Environment (FOHPMA), manages to provide technical and financial support to around 43 non-governmental organizations from 1992-2002. This fund was created by the Government of Honduras and was proposed and supplemented by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). At the beginning of this period, they highlight the fundamental support of the United Nations Development Program, the institutional strengthening of the Foundation. Mission They are a civil society organization, non-profit, specializing in sustainable development with a recognized presence and a highly qualified team in the provision of environmental services and influencing the design and implementation of environmental public policies. Vission To be recognized as a leading and proactive organization in socio-environmental matters, with an impact at national and regional level; specialized in the sustainable management of resources, which has led to improvement in the quality of life with the participation of groups living in vulnerable situations.
