About the Union The General Union of Voluntary Societies: it is the civil voluntary non - profit organization has a legal capacity managed by an elected administrative body of representatives from the governorates union's members in the General Assembly of the General Union elected by Charitable Societies the General Union of Voluntary Societies established on August 1, 1959, from Unions of Charitable Societies existing in the governorates of the Kingdom of Jordan, (5) governorates at that time, however, new unions have joined in the new governorates that have been developed, and their number has reached at the present time (12) Union governorate, and these unions as a whole represent the General Assembly of the General Union of Voluntary Societies. General Union ambitions  5- To provide a database of social voluntary sector in the Kingdom with a view to prepare the necessary plans to develop the work of the sector. 2 – To establish an academy specialized in training and education on the management of voluntary social work and other disciplines needed to serve people with special needs works on national and regional level. 3 – To implement a comprehensive program to build the institutional capacity of voluntary societies and bodies in Jordan in order to enable them to manage their business efficiently and empower them with financial and administrative developed systems. 4- To establish a computerized information system with a view to link all voluntary societies, unions and bodies with the concerned government bodies. Challenges Rehabilitation and training of human resources. Increasing the charity lottery revenues . Strengthening and diversifying the General Union revenues. Strengthening the institutional structure of societies and sub unions .
