is Jesus Christ’s love. As Christians they feel that it is their responsibility to reflect the love of Jesus Christ by being a blessing to people in great need.
In the 1970s, a group of Ghanaian high school students banded together with a vision of improving the quality of life for Northern Ghanaians. Having suffered in poverty themselves, their passion for this audacious vision was deep and real. They agreed that they would use whatever skills they could acquire to improve the lives of the poor. Years later their dream came true when they formed the Northern Empowerment Association and, as qualified professionals, started using their training for the betterment of their communities.
In the 1980s, a group of Canadians caught the vision of this inspiring group of students, and formed GRID in support of it. The founding members of GRID made lifelong commitments to alleviating poverty in Ghana. Since 1983, GRID has been privileged to support NEA in making its vision of holistic development a reality.
In 2014, after years of service and support from American churches and individuals, GRID decided to formally establish GRID USA. The public charity was registered in the USA early in 2015.
