The Institute of Hygiene of Morocco was inaugurated on December 30, 1930 in Rabat by Professor Léon BERNARD, President of the Superior Council of Hygiene of France, under the presidency of Mr. Lucien SAINT, Resident General of the French Republic in Morocco in the aim of taking care of the hygiene and epidemiology problems of communicable diseases in Morocco and spreading the basic concepts of hygiene and prophylaxis to protect the health of the population.
