About The Portuguese Institute of Accreditation, IP (IPAC) is the national accreditation body required by Regulation (EC) No. 765/2008, as detailed in the Accreditation section . The accreditation services provided by IPAC are described in the General Regulation on Accreditation ( DRC001 ) and related procedures, as well as the applicable rules, criteria and methodologies - these documents are available in the Documents section , where you will also find the forms and documentation necessary to present an application for accreditation. IPAC is a member of the European accreditation infrastructure, the European cooperation for Accreditation (EA), as well as of the global accreditation structures, the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), as indicated in International Recognition section .  IPAC is managed by a Directive Council and has a simplified organization in which support services, namely financial, computer, human resources and logistics services, are subcontracted externally. For the development of its accreditation activities, IPAC has several technical committees in which it interacts with interested parties and makes use of a pool of evaluators and external experts. It also has an Advisory Committee representative of the various stakeholders in the accreditation activity and which supervises the impartiality of its performance, as well as providing strategic guidance.
