Invictus Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been setting up online tutoring arrangements since 2012. Currently operating in Bangladesh, Ghana, India, and Uganda with plans to expand into other countries. The majority of the students' tutor are girls. There are many deficiencies in education systems around the globe. In Uganda, for example, it is common for students to be in classrooms with 100+ students. Teachers are paid very little so they often take up 2-3 jobs and are unable to help students on a personal level. Teacher turnover is high, so students will often see a few different teachers in a school year. Universal education policies have helped improve enrollment, which is around 75% for primary school, but by secondary school the enrollment percentage drops to 15%. As often is the case, girls suffer the most from these deficiencies. The solution at Invictus Institute is to digitally reach as many kids as possible and create one-on-one mentorships to help kids reach their potential. As they do so, they will chart a new course for their families and improve their communities. The goal is to be tutoring thousands and thousands of kids in these international communities. Core Beliefs It is best to help people help themselves. People can help make the world a better place in many other ways than just give money. It is important to connect people so they can share talents with each other. In turn, both benefit.
