Istituto per la Competitivita

The Institute for Competitiveness (I-com) is a non-profit organization, founded in 2005 by a group of young scholars, professionals and managers, to promote issues and analysis of competitiveness in an innovative way, within the framework European and international political and economic. The I-com aims to influence the public debate on the future of the Italian system, based on a multidisciplinary expertise, reinforced by a committee of high-profile, and thanks to a variety of analysis and dissemination tools. In particular, the analysis promoted is characterized in two respects: 1) analyzing a second list certainly not exhaustive but sufficiently large the marginal contribution of relevant growth factors competitiveness (or non-growth) Italian 2) examine the individual factors of competitiveness (energy, communications, finance, institutions and innovation) in an integrated perspective In this regard, the I-com will combine analytical rigor and absolute autonomy from political parties with the opportunity to take a specific position on individual issues and to use dissemination tools accessible not only to professionals but more generally to a informed public. To achieve the statutory goals, the I-com will carry out, on its own initiative or at the request of shareholders, the following activities: organizing and promoting conferences, seminars, training courses, debates and meetings open to the public or reserved for members on the competitiveness of the Italian system in Europe and elsewhere and / or international contribute to the public debate with ideas and policy proposals, through position papers, legislative proposals and comments made national and international measures published series of books and notebooks, and a series of working papers on competitiveness issues open to external contributions and examined by an ad hoc editorial board prepare and publish newsletters, multimedia material and other publications to internal and also external circulation, with the goal of increasing cultural and scientific knowledge of its members support research and studies on the competitiveness of the Italian system, European and foreign, through the connection and collaboration with academic institutions and other research institutions organize initiatives for training and specialization of all those working in the economic, political and social organize and eventually produce educational initiatives resulting into events open to the public in partnership with public or private organizations, schools, universities, academies and other organizations that deal with culture and education, for the study and deepening of the competitiveness of the Italian system
