AflaSight bridges the quality gap at the last mile of the maize value chain in Rwanda with the first high-capacity mechanical sorting operation able to remove aflatoxin-infected kernels once present.
With maize quality improved, previously excluded suppliers can be re-connected with high-quality, high-value maize buyers. As a result, food- and feed- processors can procure high-quality maize locally, Rwandan’ food products can be made safely and aflatoxin-free, and local maize suppliers are able to gain a 15% income increase.
AflaSight is working in partnership with the World Food Programme Innovation Accelerator.
