Maharaja Hanwant Singh Ji Charitable Trust

His Highness Maharaja Hanwant Singhji Charitable Trust established in 1971 by His Highness Maharaja of Jodhpur is a registered (80G-12A) certified NGO and is registered under Rajasthan Public Trust Act, 1956 and FCRA Act 2010 to receive foreign donation/contribution. One of the main objective of the Trust is “Empowerment of Women”. The Trust’s ongoing commitment is to empower women and girls by effecting social change through a series of projects in education, health, improving quality of life through economic upliftment, and enhancing their general awareness so as to remove the gender bias as far as justice & equal opportunities are concerned. To this end, the Trust runs two girl’s hostels for rural poor and deprived girls at Desuri, District Pali, Rajasthan and second one at Keru 25 kms away from Jodhpur city. Both these institutions being run by the Trust aim at empowering girls through proper formal education which includes extra-curricular activities. For capacitating women the Trust runs an Women's Training and Empowerment Centre at Keru where rural women are trained in sewing, embroidery, art and craft and appliqué works.
