Matrix Chambers

Matrix was set up in 2000 in response to the changing face of the legal landscape at that time. They wanted to achieve a different working model from the traditional English chambers and, at the time of their establishment, they were labelled “the future of the Bar”. They are proud of their record of innovation and of their reputation as an accessible, professional and approachable set. Their actions are guided by their core values, which outline their principles as an organisation and govern how they work. They operate within a modern environment, where diversity, accessibility and client care are widely championed. Their mission statement “To be an excellent, innovative provider of legal services domestically and internationally” Senior management The organisation is led by James Laddie QC, who is the Chair of their Management Committee. Their staff team, business development and operational structure is managed by their Chief Executive, Rachel Holmes. Their practice desk staff and members are managed by their Practice Director, Jason Housden. Their financial management is the responsibility of their Chief Operating Officer, Kevin Hooper. Matrix was accredited in 2016 as an Investors in People Platinum organisation, which recognises that their organisation works at the highest standard of people management.
