The Médialternatif Group is an association of mass communication professionals and other related disciplines. It was officially founded in Port-au-Prince on October 20, 2001 by career journalists who previously collaborated and worked together for more than 10 years.
Goals of GM
The Groupe Médialternatif aims to create and contribute to energize communication and information spaces within the framework of an alternative vision based on the respect of human rights and the ethical rules governing the profession of journalist.

Orientation
The Médialternatif Group places its actions within the framework of a perspective of democratic communication, access to the media and an increase in the quality of media products in relation to the needs of the majority of the Haitian population. Its approaches are in line with the requirements of the right to information and communication as a fundamental right of every human being and a corollary of freedom of the press.
Structure of GM
The Médialternatif Group is composed of founding members and active members with expertise in radio, television, print, electronic and other media. Its decision-making bodies are the General Assembly (GA) and the Management Board (GC).
The founders
Gotson Pierre Career Journalist, Communications Consultant
Gotson Pierre has been a professional journalist since 1981. He works with various Haitian and foreign media, especially radio. He has participated in professional and social groupings at national and international level during the last 20 years.
Vario Serant Career Journalist and Communications Consultant
Vario Sérant has been a professional journalist since the late 1980s. He works for Haitian and foreign media, including television and radio. He is Director of Information at Tele Haiti and Coordinator of the Reflection and Action Group for Freedom of the Press (GRALIP).
Ronald Colbert Career Journalist and Communications Consultant
Ronald Colbert has been a professional journalist since 1986. His journalistic experiences cover all genres in the media: electronic press, alternative press, news agencies, socio-professional magazines on development and economics, audiovisual and written press.
