The Emergence of the Ministry of Agriculture
The Ministry of Agriculture was established in the era of the Emirate of East Jordan in the formation of the thirteenth ministry in 1929. The late (Nicola Ghanma) was the first Minister of Agriculture. Legislation concerning the agricultural sector has been issued since the beginning of the establishment of the Emirate. The organization and administration of the Ministry is the Law No. 82 of 2004 and its amendments issued pursuant to Article (120) of the Constitution and its amendments.
Tasks of the Ministry:
The Ministry consists of thirty-eight directorates and a central unit, including two directorates linked to the Minister, six directorates and three units directly linked to the Secretary General, in addition to twelve governorate agriculture directorates and thirty directorates of agriculture in the governorate brigades.
