Ministry of Internal Affairs (North Macedonia)
The Ministry of Interior carries out the activities related to:
realization of the system of state and public security;
registration of the place of residence and the place of residence;
citizenship and passports for crossing the state border;
movement and stay in the border area;
control of the state border crossing, as well as certain issues related to the identification and resolution of border incidents and other border violations;
residence and movement of foreigners;
production, trade, storage and protection of flammable liquids, gases, explosives and other hazardous materials and the transport of such materials;
providing assistance in cases of natural disasters and epidemics;
the acquisition, possession, carrying and control of weapons and ammunition marking;
supervision within its competence and
performs other duties determined by law.
The Ministry, within its competence, provides expert assistance to citizens, legal entities and state bodies in the realization of prescribed rights and obligations, protection of life and personal security of citizens and property.
The employees of the Ministry shall be obliged in the performance of their duties and duties to protect and safeguard the life and property of the citizens, to respect the freedoms and rights of the individual and the citizen, and to apply in a prescribed manner only the measures and means of coercion provided by this Law or another regulation is laid down.
The organizational structure of the Ministry consists of:
organizational units for the needs of the Ministry; and
bodies within the Ministry.
The organizational units for the needs of the Ministry are the organizational units responsible for carrying out professional activities related to the performance of the internal affairs, for the needs of the entire Ministry.
